UK Tonkinese Type Part 2 - The Head in
Detail
© Linda Vousden
Please
bear in mind that these description refer to UK Tonkinese. When
viewed from the front, a good Tonkinese head, including the ears, should
give the overall impression of an equal-sided triangle - as such it will
demonstrate the correct ear set and size in relation to the head. Ears that
are set slightly vertical to the head, close set, or have pointed tips are
undesirable. The whisker pinch should not be so extreme that it makes the
muzzle prominent. The top of the head (ie. the skull between the ears)
should be gently rounded, not flat. There should be no sharp angles or
exaggerated curves. Mature males may exhibited heavy jowls.

Well
balanced Tonkinese heads. Good eye shape and ear-set.
The
head type is such that a line drawn from A to B will balance a line drawn
from B to C;
and a
line drawn from A to D will balance a line drawn from D to E.
