The Tonkinese (International) Chat Group I initially set-up this group in 1999, with members of the UK Tonkinese Breed Club in mind - but it has grown beyond the UK and we now have members from Canada, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Scandinavia etc. (sorry if I've missed anyone). All Tonk enthusiasts are welcome, wherever in the world you are, whether you own a Tonk or not. Tonkinese Line Chasers Group There are many people who are interested in line-chasing, i.e tracing their cats' ancestors. As a personal hobby I have been gathering UK Tonkinese pedigrees since I first started to breed Tonks in 1991, I am also the archivist for the UK Tonkinese Breed Advisory Committee so I have a fair database now, which I aim to put on-line one day. In the meantime I have set up a Tonkinese Line Chasers chat group on Yahoo for those who want help to find missing links in their pedigrees.
The Tonkinese Research Group Following the success of the Tonkinese chat group some members, including myself, felt that the group had grown beyond the pure subject of the Tonkinese breed and that there was room for a group based on friendly exchange of Tonk chat plus a group strictly relating to breed topics. So I set up the Tonkinese Research Group. If you’d like to join this group too please bear in mind that it is not intended for everyday chatting, but it is a useful resource for those who have more specific enquiries to make about the breed and its progress internationally. Note: It is not a busy list but is useful if you need more experienced help.
