ABOUT THE RESCUE

The Tonkinese Breed Club runs a rescue service for abandoned or lost Tonkinese cats across the UK. The TBC is committed to providing advice, support and help to anyone who requires information or practical assistance in the care of Tonkinese. Our Rescue Officer is discreet and very experienced. As a small organisation we are not always able to take cats into care but work on a 'network basis' - providing the best possible advice or helping to find a suitable home. If you are offering a home to a cat please do not be offended by thorough questioning, you will understand that the aim is to place a cat in the most suitable home according to its situation - not all cats are suited to all homes.

Unfortunately, past experiences have left both new owners and the Rescue Service with unnecessary expenses. So we must emphasise that it is not our function to provide a re-homing service for breeders; nor do we find homes for cats or kittens that are for sale. However we do have a page on our web site for breeders who may need to re-home a cat.

FUNDING

We are not eligible to be a registered charity as we are a small 'organisation' run by the Tonkinese Breed Club. We do make great efforts to raise funds but have limited resources and can always use some extra help by way of fund-raising ideas, activities and donations. If you can help in any way we’d be pleased to hear from you.
