CHANGES TO THE TONKINESE SOP
On 20/06/07 the GCCF Council approved the following changes: -
'Solid Colour' is now referred to as 'Self Colour' - this is to
distinguish it from the Solid coat-pattern description, 'self'
replaces 'solid' wherever it referred to a colour-pattern. Clarification of the nose and paw pad leathers in Tabby Tonkinese (see
under Tabby Pattern Head Markings) click here for a downloadable copy
of the Tonkinese
SOP .pdf.
CHANGE TO
THE TONKINESE REGISTRATION POLICY.
On
22/02/06 the GCCF Council approved the following change: -
Kittens born
on or after 1st January 2007 from the mating of a Tonkinese with any other
breed (including Burmese or Siamese) will be registered as 'No Recognised
Breed'.
Please
note:
1) There is no deadline
for cessation of 1st generation Tonkinese (progeny of Burmese x Siamese matings).
2) Contrary
to misunderstandings, the TBAC does NOT discourage first-cross matings that are
planned to introduce new lines into the Tonkinese
breed.
3) A cat does NOT
have to be 3rd or later generation in order to be a Tonkinese.
PROBLEMS REGISTERING YOUR
TONKINESE?
If you
are concerned that your properly bred Tonkinese kittens are not on
their correct register, please write to the TBAC Secretary with a
copy of the kitten's pedigree and registration document (enclose a SAE for
a reply). We may be able to help sort your problem out and/or sort it out
with the GCCF Registrar on your behalf.
If you have bred
a 4th, or later, generation Tonkinese that is eligible for the Full Register
from a Tonkinese Variant parent you
will notice that the Registration policy currently requires you to include a letter
specifically requesting Full Registeration - the Tonkinese BAC has raised a form
for this purpose, which you may print from this web.
