Slovakia is rich in cultural and historical heritage. There are few places in the world where you can find so much natural beauty and variety concentrated in such a small area. Slovakia's location at the heart of Europe and a favourable climate make it a great place to travel. Slovakia is a member of European Union. Slovak is the National Language but English is widely spoken and understood. In Slovakia there are at present over 20 institutions of higher education. They Follow the established tradition of higher education in this region. In the last few years, there been more and more students who want to study abroad in Slovakia. Eastern Europe is quickly gaining acceptance as a hot spot for many international students. The usual language of instruction is Slovak, but several institutions offer some of their courses in English or have special arrangements for non-Slovak students.

Courses Offered
There are almost 300 international study programmes and courses taught entirely in English. For the international programmes and courses it is absolutely essential that you can speak, read and write English well. All type of courses are available in Slovakia like Agriculture, forestry and fishery, Arts and Humanities, Business administration and management, Communication, Education and Teacher, Training, Engineering, Environmental Science, Fine and applied arts, Law, Mathematics and computer science, Medical and health sciences, Natural sciences, Service, tourism and leisure, Social and behavioural sciences, Transport and logistics, Urban planning and architecture.
Average Fees & Living Expenses
Experience shows that to live in the Slovakia for one year costs a foreign student between €300 and € 550 a month. This is needed to cover daily expenses and to pay the registration and tuition fees.

For undergraduate studies
1. Senior Secondary School Leaving Certificate
2. One year of successfully completed university education
3. Proof of English, e.g. TOEFL or IELTS
For graduate studies

Foreign students who wish to study or do an internship in the Slovakia need to go through the Slovakian immigration procedures. The same applies to guest lecturers, postdoctoral students, and researchers coming to the Slovakia for academic purposes. Depending on what you are going to do and for how long you are staying, you might need:
Make sure all documentation required is in order and complete.
Final offer letter from College (this will be issued once fees have been paid in compliance with Portugal Government visa regulations).
Evidence that student can support him/herself fully without relying on state services, e.g. copy of current bank statement showing at least € 10,000 and a 'letter of good standing' from the sponsors bank.

Working while studying
