Lithuania immigration procedures for academic visitors

Foreign students who wish to study or do an internship in the Lithuania need to go through the Lithuania immigration procedures. The same applies to guest lecturers, postdoctoral students, and researchers coming to the Lithuania for academic purposes. Depending on what you are going to do and for how long you are staying, you might need:

  • a short-stay visa 

  • an authorization for temporary stay 

  • a residence permit 

  • a work permit 

Working while studying

Foreign students in the Lithuania are allowed to take a part-time job.
