St Albans GO Club

A meeting was held at 8pm on 30^th April 2003 at TheWhite Lion, Sopwell Lane to agree the structure of the club.

Membership roles

MIC was elected as Secretary and asked to take the minutes.

The secretary’s role will be to i) take minutes ii) collate email addresses, phone numbers and addresses of members and occasional players and iii) deal with all external (i.e. BGA) communications.

AT was elected as Treasurer. The funds are currently £42.72

RN was elected President/Chairman to be figurehead for representing
club and judicious roles

Membership fees

Annual membership fee was set at £5 per annum and the year would run from 1^st May. There will be no board fees. An AGM would be held towards the end of April. Membership will allow the members to put forward proposals and vote. Membership entails responsibility for equipment on club nights.

Motions

Motions must be proposed and a seconded and will be put forward by email for presentation to the membership. For a motion to be passed 2/3 of the membership must vote in favour of the motion. If a member does not vote it will be considered to be a vote against the motion. Voting will be open for a month. A member can change the way they vote. All votes must be communicated to the other members and the secretary will collate the votes. If any member does not have an email address then communication will be done through the secretary.

Meeting date

The meeting day and time will remain as Wednesday at 8pm, although all membership and occasional guests should be asked (when the email list is compiled) if they would appreciate an earlier meeting time, especially in summer.

All votes were passed unanimously.

The meeting was concluded around 10pm with a game of GO.
