What is Astrology?
Astrology is the core of "Science"
and goes right back to the early ages of our civilisation for its
origin. During the early ages of our evolution we were compelled
to learn certain lessons; that we are not the master of our
destiny and that Nature has the greatest influence upon our lives.
We tried to understand Nature and became aware that the Sun and
the Moon influences the passing of the seasons, the fertility of
the soils, the rains, tides and the general comfort and well
being of all creatures. As we became aware of the importance of
Nature and tried to live in harmony with our environment we also
began to unfold our spiritual or real self. The Sun shines
equally upon all but a crystal reflects back to the Sun much more
than a piece of earth. Even in a family of crystals, all
clustered together, each will reflect back in a very different
way and the degree of reflection and absorption will depend very
much on the orientation of each crystal. The same principle is
used when making astrological birth charts and subsequent
forecasts for the future. We are all born under different
planetary configurations and their influence will vary from
person to person. This is because like those crystals, we are
differently affected by each and every planet and how much we
reflect back or are influenced by each planet will depend on our
orientation to it. Each birth chart is unique and depends
precisely on where and when we were born. In fact the most
important aspect of these birth charts is that no two persons are
the same and each one of us has a different destiny.
Astrology is a key-science and
has played an important part in our history and evolution. What
is astrology? Astrology may be best described as a way to find
out the "truth" about ourselves; our origin and our
destiny. Astrology gives us an insight of how we should deal with
the materialistic world and find out the wisdom of life.
In Hindu mythology, "truth"
is related to the GOD BRAHMA, and the literal meaning of the word
Brahma is the truth. LORD BRAHMA is also the creator of the
universe and has been its protector throughout the ages. BRAHMA
is the force that keeps everything stable and can be clearly
observed in the chemical structure of metals and materials and is
needed to maintain their equilibrium. This is the binding force
and which is the BRAHMA. All the GOD and GODDESS are linked and
are coming from LORD BRAHMA. LORD BRAHMA has one head but has
four faces and they are at each of the four directions and the
head itself signifies the up and the feet the down. So LORD
BRAHMA observing and protecting the universe and he is the
creator of the Universe. It is also believed that Lord Brahma has
many form. In Hindu mythology the most important form of LORD
BRAHMA is the GOD SHIVA. Lord SHIVA is often referred to as the
destroyer but that destruction is not negative but necessary to
preserve the "Truth" and paves the way for rebuilding
to occur. The rebuilder is SHIVA. Once this rebuilding process is
completed one needs to preserve that power/ energy / material.
The GOD who is the preserver is Vishnu and from which LORD
KRISHNA has come. So BRAHMA, VISHNU and SHIVA are the three force
who are maintaining the universe and the progress of mankind.
This can also be regarded as the holy trinity. JESUS CHRIST,
MOHAMMED, KRISHNA and all great religious masters can be
considered to be different forms of the three forces or energies
of "BRAHMA", "VISHNU" and "SHIVA".
In astrology there are seven planets which have a great deal of influence to our life. These are Saturn, Mars, Jupiter, Mercury, Venus, the Moon and the Sun. The names of the seven days of the week come from these planets. There are two other planets which are Moon's nodes south and north as well as three outer planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, which also have some affect on us. There are also twenty seven Asterisms [stars] which are considered in astrological calculations as well. However amongst all these planets and stars, the real major influences are; Saturn, Jupiter and Mars. Astrologically these three planets are known as the holy trinity. Saturn which is the most powerful is also the destroyer and rebuilder. Saturn is the death and Saturn is the life. Saturn is the "YOGI" and Saturn is the "KNOWLEDGE" and Saturn is also the one nation Universe. The greatest success and the knowledge is achieved by the power and the discipline through Saturn. Saturn is the spiritual master and also the most non-material effect is come from the power of Saturn. On the other hand the greatest material success of any kind comes from Saturn as well. It is impossible to succeed in life without the direct interactions of Saturn. The greatest failure i.e. the destruction and catastrophe also come through Saturn. This is "BRAHMA" and this is Saturn. Saturn's influence alone can bind forever and has no limitation. Jupiter's influence is preserving and expanding. Saturn is the rebuilder after the destruction and that point becomes " LORD SHIVA". Jupiter leads to growth and development. Jupiter is the preserver of what Saturn has been built. Jupiter is " LORD VISHNU". The influence of Mars is that of the energiser or mover i.e. the determinations, giving the energy and motion to that which Saturn has built and Jupiter has preserved. Mars can be regarded as the GODDESS "KALI" which can only be controlled positively and directed towards the good of humanity by " LORD SHIVA". GODDESS KALI is a form of BRAHMA as well. Major astrological forecast can only be made by taking into consideration the interaction of these three planets. From personal experience I have always found that without the positive influence of these three planets in one form or other we do not get the advancement in life. Our destruction or downfall also comes through the negative influence of these three planets. Considering the world as a whole, we find that the greatest catastrophes such as war, climatic disasters, recession etc. occur when there is a direct powerful negative influence of Saturn acting in confrontation with or directly clashing with a powerful Jupiter. Whenever the preservation powers of Jupiter become unsettled, then problems occur in the world. However after the destruction rebuilding also takes place. During recent years and especially from late 1990 all the way through to early 1992 the influence of Jupiter and Saturn has been extremely severe. Similar astrological conditions also took place in the 2nd and 3rd quarter of 1930 and continued until 1932. In both occasions Saturn was in Capricorn and that is a very powerful position for Saturn. Similarly Jupiter was in Cancer which is exactly opposite to Saturn and Cancer is the most powerful position for Jupiter, so there was a CLASH. The resultant effect was a catastrophe in the World. World wide recession leading to political turmoil. But after the difficulties there was progress and we will also see the progress which has began after 1992.
