As well as the panel of fifteen prints the Royal Photographic Society asks for a Statement Of Intent describing what you are attempting to achieve. Here is mine: "The inspiration for my work came after reading several books on street photography. Some of these include Henri Cartier-Bresson and Gary Winogrand. My photographs are natural and not posed. Some are sad, some are quirky, some are very emotional, but that is life on the street. The aim of this panel is to give a glimpse of the life on the street portraying both the happy and also the sad side. When people are looking at my pictures I want them to actually feel the atmosphere on the street." |
