It is always a distressing experience when you realise a pet is missing, but have you considered the following?

Looking in:-

All rooms
Cupboards, boxes
Shed and garages
Neighbours gardens
Hedgerows

Asking:-

Neighbours
Local vets
Police
Local Cat Protection Branches (not just your own area)
Other local animal charities
Local tradesmen

Advertising:-

Local notices boards
Local shops
Posters on trees, and through doors
Local papers

It is important to add your cat to lost and found registers.
