CDAS Observing
Group
Members of the group try to regularly use the telescope to collect images on the Starlight Express SXL8 CCD camera and the Phillips Toucam Pro Webcam. We need to utilise the telescope to the full during rare clear nights, so new members are needed who can take part in scientific work to look out for asteroids novae, supernovae, comets, extra-solar planets etc as well as obtaining pictures of the moon and planets. If you would like to startusing the telescope in a serious way, you first need to start attending our meetings on a regular basis so we can get to know you.

Progress within the observing section:
Most Recent:
The Webcam has been used several times to collect images of Jupiter and the moon. We now have hundreds of images to process!
Modifications now need to be made to the prime focus position for Newtonian mode. This will involve making an adapter ring for the secondary mirror. An electrically operated focusser has been fitted.
