Matt's Training

 

Update ! Matt's new bike .....no excuses for not flying up hills now. Actually this is it really.

Matt's training has started in earnest in 2007. Excuses have dried up and miles are being put in on the bike.

Matt started from a harder place than the others. Amy and Kyle are pretty much permanent athletes, Mark can sort of look like one if he puts in serious effort, but Matt has to do all that and lose a load of weight, I mean muscle. It will be tough.

 

  • 05/05/07 - 24/06/07 - Lots of rides including Gran Fondo Cymru, Etape du Dales etc
  • 05/05/07 - 50 Miles or so in the Vale of Belvoir.
  • 15/04/07 - 55 miles on an aborted Lakeland Loop Sportive. Legs died.
  • 14/04/07 - 82 miles on a Lakeland Loop Training ride. Hard.
  • 07/04/08 - 160 miles - Ronde Van Vlaanderen, report here.
  • 01/04/07 - 111 miles, Tollerton - Winnats - Nottingham (strong ride in great conditions)
  • 25/03/07 - 102 miles on the Cheshire Cat Sportive, the first of the season
  • 11/03/07 - Peak Distict Loop - 82 Miles
  • 25/02/07 - 104 Miles, Tollerton, round Rutland water and back
  • 13/02/07 - 16k TT Col de Peyresourde TT (Tacx)
  • 11/02/07 - 40 Miles 11/02/07 - Derwent - Strines, Holmfirth and back. Holme Moss & Snake Pass were closed due to snow, so had to back track.
  • 04/02/07 - 40 Miles, Belvoir Training Ride
  • 03/02/07 - 107 miles - Nottingham - Boston - Nottingham 17st something - ouch !
  • 07/01/07 - 83 miles - Peak District

Athlete Rating 3.5/5 (strong in the Ronde Van Vlaanderen, but a DNF in the lakes)
