When Father Hen walked through my door of my recording studio They were unassuming, humble and droll. Once the music started however, it was passionate, edgy, inventive and quite frankly astonishing. Each performance was a 'Take' and if they did perform a track twice, you could guarantee the guitar solo would change completely, but be just as amazing as the last time. The sheer width and power of Gordon King's voice and the inventive and effortless performance of the group is hypnotic to witness.

I was lucky enough to watch this elusive group, during a series of writing and rehearsal sessions. Not once during my time working in the music industry have I seen a band who can write an entire song, complete with finished lyrics within 20 minutes, and repeat this feat session after session. To say thay are Prolific would be an understatement.

The release of these recordings is long overdue. When you listen to them, bear in mind that many are 'one-take' live sessions with no overdubs. Enjoy...........
