LAMLASH PARISH CHURCH

Details of the interior of the church Details of the exterior of the church

The restoration fund was started in 1994, but during negotiations and preparation for Stage 1 of the work, the Presbytery decided to close the church by December 1996. Everything was held in abeyance and the fight now focused on saving the church building. Our appeal against the Presbytery decision was upheld in Edinburgh in March 1997 and by December of that same year the restoration of the church roof was completed at a cost of £180,000, 60% of this total came from 'Historic Scotland' and the rest was raised by the members and friends of the congregation. The actual membership stands at 165.

It is estimated that we still need to spend £300,000 on the church building and a further £75,000 on the church hall.
At present the restoration fund stands at £45,000.

You can help by coming to our Coffee Mornings (1st Wednesday in each month - 10.30am - 12 noon).
