This web site is intended to be a forum for my ideas and what I am doing. It merely exists to keep my mate Don updated on what I am doing or thinking about and was never intended for general consumption. I am an amateur thinker and do-er. I do not profess to be an expert in any subject.
I have always fondly regarded my workshop as my 'cave'. Something to wrap around me, something that I feel comfortable in. It is here that I turn my ideas, my hopes and my dreams into reality.
I have a small lathe, a pillar drill and a MIG welder. I have two working positions, one for metal work and the other for electronics. Most of my mechanical construction work is done with a hacksaw and metal working files. I couldn't really ask for more. My philosophy in life is that it is better to produce results rather than excuses.
I am somewhat better furnished for my electronic work, with a PC Scope, frequency meter, home brewed signal generator etc.. Any instrument that I need and do not have, I will probably design and make myself. I seem to be going through a PIC period at the moment. I decided to do the face pain suppression project using PIC micro-processors .... as a means of learning how to use them. I do not have the time or inclination to learn assembler or machine code, so I use Crownhill's Basic compiler for the PIC range of chips.
OK, that's it for day one. I will add to the site as things develop. If you find something of interest here .... then great. If you do not like what you see ..... what are you doing remaining here ....... making yourself unhappy ?.
