The fairways are laid out on both sides of the river Tay, access across being by a fibreglass footbridge, built in 1992; the first in the world. Length 5621 yards S.S.S. 67 A cliff-top links course with spectacular views all round, winding around a rocky gorse-strewn summit. http://www.bamburghcastlegolfclub.org/ The first - a par 3. A fine view of the castle. BEESTON FIELDS Beeston Nottingham. Length 6414 yards S.S.S. 71 A pleasant, mature parkland course. A pleasant parkland course, many mature trees, lakes and lots of Deer.Weblink BELTON WOODS Hotel Belton nr. Grantham Notts. A leisure complex with 3 courses laid out over what were once fields. Weblink BROOMIEKNOWE GOLF CLUB Bonnyrigg Midlothian Scotland Length 6150 yards S.S.S.70 A friendly club and a well-maintained course set in mature rolling parkland. Weblink BUDE Cornwall. Length - 6205 yards S.S.S. 70 The course is on the North side of the town and stretches from the sea-side back up a hill inland. Length - 5572 yards S.S.S. 67 A heathland course, sandy well drained turf and an abundance of gorse and similar wild-life. Weblink BULWELL HALL (Nottingham City) Nottingham. Length - 6120 yards S.S.S. 70. A flat parkland course. Its called Nottingham City but to me it has always been Bulwell Hall. Weblink CALLENDER Perthshire Scotland. Length -6326 yards S.S.S. 70 This is a mature parkland course set on both side of a brook which winds through the course. Magnificent views of the Peak District moors beyond encourage the eye to stray from the ball - the brook awaits .Weblink CHILWELL MANOR Chilwell Nottingham Length - 6255 yards S.S.S.71. The 3rd green and the Clubhouse from the 18th. A beautifully kept pleasant flat parkland course. This is my home club at which I spend many happy hours. Length - 6500 yards S.S.S. 71 Well converted from pasture land, but rather a lot of water in the form of lakes. Weblink COXMOOR Coxmoor Notts Length - 6571 yards par 73. A mature rolling course set delightfully amongst birches and pines. Weblink CRAIL Balcomie Links, Crail, Fife. There are two courses - the old and the new. I played the old. Length - 5922 yards S.S.S. 69. This is the world's 7th oldest golf course having been played over since 1786. The Society has used the course permanently since 1895. It is a traditional links course running along the sea-shore, much affected by the winds. The back nine, after a flat start, soon marches off up hill, culminating in a 505 yards par 5 mountain climb to the highest point on the course. It's all down-hill after that, thankfully.Weblink |
