MIXED TROPHIES

1. Harry Jarvis Cups. (Presented by H. Jarvis)         Mixed foursomes.  Qualifying round (Medal) April or May annually. ½ combined handicap. First 16 pairs qualify for knockout match play. Hcp limit – Men, 20 Ladies, 30.

6. Bill Peach Past Captains (Presented by Mrs W.G.F. Peach).     18 hole Medal.  Past Captains compete for one trophy and Past Lady Captains for the other.

2. Chilwell Cup.     Mixed foursome medal to be played for annually by members. ½ combined handicap.  Hcp limit – Men, 20 Ladies, 30.  (First played for in 1935).

7. Gladys Weedop Trophy. (Presented by G. Weedop).     Mixed greensome stableford.  2/5ths of Higher handicap and 3/5ths of Lower handicap combined.

3. The Denny Salvers. (Presented  by Mrs J.P. Denny)     18 hole mixed Stableford foursomes. 7/16th combined handicap. Hcp limit – Men, 20 Ladies, 30. 

8. Professional’s Trophy. (Swilcan Putter).       Format as for A. Booth Memorial Trophy. First played for in 1979.

4. Jubilee Trophies. (Presented by Mr & Mrs A.H. Lethbridge)     18 hole mixed greensome medal. Hcp limit - Men – 20, Ladies – 30.  2/5ths of Higher handicap and 3/5ths of Lower handicap combined.

9. Ryman Trophy.  (Presented by D. Kirkman & Mrs G Ryrie). Management Committee versus Ladies Committee annually.

5. Alex Booth Memorial. (Presented by the members)  Am Am Medal (2 men and 2 ladies) best two scores to count at each hole. Hcp limit – Men, 20 Ladies, 30. 3/4 handicap.  Shots to be taken at indicated holes.

MEN’S TROPHIES

1. The Scratch Cup     To be competed for twice annually i.e.   May and August. Awarded to the player returning the lowest gross score.  First played for in 1932.

17. The Garrison Shield. (Presented by the Officer’s Mess of the R.A.O.C. Chilwell).      Four Ball Stableford Bogey, each player receives 7/8ths of his handicap.Handicap limit – 20.

2. The Captain’s Cup (Presented by E. Armitage). Knock out match play Hcp limit 20.

18. The Veteran’s Cup. (Presented by Nelson H. Sutton).   18 hole medal play.  Qualifying age – 55 or over at the date of the competition. Play off full handicap.

3. Monthly Medal Competitions and Gold Medal Finals.    Monthly Medal Day last Saturday in each month and Thursday prior thereto. Played in first, second and third divisions.  Winners of each division receive a replica. Gold Medal Day played annually on a Saturday in June. Competitors returning the best scratch score, the best nett score in DivisionI, II and III during period of 12 months ending May 31 qualify to play in the Scratch Gold Medal, the Division 1 Gold Medal, Division 11 and Division III Gold Medal respectively.  36 holes, Medal finalists will compete in the division in which they last qualified, but will be drawn in divisions according to handicap on Gold Medal Day.  No player may take more than one Gold Medal in any one year.

19. The Cantrell Cup. (Presented by Mrs M.E. Cantrell).18 hole medal. To be played annually, handicap limit – 20.

4. Ashworth Trophy (Presented by F.J. Ashworth). Open to 1st Division Monthly Medal players.  Held by the player returning the best 5 nett scores (aggregate) for year ending on October Medal Day. 

20. Club Championship. (Presented by C.S. Hubbard).    36 hole scratch event.  To be played on one day annually.

5. Clifton Trophy (Presented by A.B. Frost).   Open to 2nd Division Monthly Medal players.  Conditions same as Ashworth Trophy.

21. Clare Trophy. (Presented by C.A. Clare).   For Thursday medallists, returning the best nett scores (aggregate) for year ending October medal day. Handicap limit – 20.

6. Butler Trophy (Presented by E.T. Butler)     Open to 3rd Division Monthly Medal players.  Conditions same as Ashworth and Clifton Trophy.

22. Larks Cup. (Presented by A. R. Smith).18 hole medal, start on all tees “Up with the Lark”, all competitors must be off the tee at 5am.  Draw for tees, handicap limit – 18.

7. Willows Cup (Presented by J. E. Berry).  Qualifying round on April Medal Day.  First 32 qualify for knockout match play under handicap.

23. Dave Nelson Trophy.   18 hole Stableford.  Played annually. Maximum handicap – 18. First played for in 1986.

8. Queens Cup (Presented by Dr. J.W.P. Morgan, R.L. Morgan and A.T. May) 36 hole medal play, 18 holes played on each of successive Saturdays.  Handicap limit  - No competitor can play off a handicap exceeding – 20. First played for in 1929.

24. Chilwell Egg Cups. (Presented by A.R. Smith).    Team of four – Australian scramble.  2 players (0-14), 2 players (15-20).  Players up to 28 handicap can play but must play off “20”.

9. Topham Bogey Cup (Presented by E.W. Topham)   Singles Match v Bogey  handicap limit – 20.

25. Captain’s Trophy. (Presented by Rex Pearson).   The best score on Captain’s Day – first played for on Saturday 3rd July 2004.

10. Sine Nomine Cups.    Men’s foursomes.  Qualifying round to be played in May annually.  First 16 to qualify.  Stroke play off half combined handicap in the qualifying round.  Handicap limit for any competitor – 20.  Qualifying 16 enter match play stage.

26. Garrison Match Trophy. (Presented by Officers of Chilwell Garrison).     Played for in Spring and Autumn.  Committee v Garrison.

11. Frank Shaw Cups. (Presented by Frank Shaw).    Best Ball Four Ball v Bogey.  Handicap allowance ¾ of each player’s official handicap.  To be played in October annually.

27. Bryan Moss Trophy. (Presented by B. Moss).   Am Am team event.

12. Plackett Cup. (Presented by F. Plackett).   For Thursday medal finalists.  18 holes.  Played on June Thursday medal day, one division only. Handicap limit – 20.

28. Winter League Trophies. (Presented by R Meeks).   18 hole league match play.  Played in sections.

13. Sharp Trophy. (Presented by T. Sharp).   36 hole medal competition to be held annually.  Handicap limit – 20.

29. Winter Knockout.   Better Ball match play. First played for in 1995.

14. Whetton Cup. (Presented by F. Whetton).  To be competed for annually, qualify by two Thursday medal cards returned.  Match play. Handicap limit – 20.

30. Diamond Trophy.    18 hole medal for 65’s or over. First played for in 1982

15. Oliver Morris Trophy. (Presented by friends of the late O. Morris)   For the best nett aggregate of the May and October medal scores.  Handicap limit – 20.

31. Ted Price Trophy. (Presented by Mrs M. Price).   Played for by the Men’s Past Captains.

16. Long Driving Trophy. (Presented by Dr. D. Finlayson).    Each competitor to drive three golf balls, two of which must finish inside the qualifying area. (The fairway as cut on the day starting at 180 yards from the tee).  The longer ball to count.

SENIORS TROPHIES
1. Ronald Craggs Memorial Trophies. (Donated by R. Craggs).

One trophy is presented for the best score in the Seniors Open in June. Trophy is retained at the Club. 2nd trophy is played for by the seniors as knockout matchplay.

2. A.T. May Trophy (Presented by A.T. May).

Seniors Championship – stroke play in September.

LADIES’ TROPHIES AND COMPETITIONS

1. Autumn Bowl (introduced by Mrs H R Titley) Competed for at the Autumn Meeting   Medal play. Hcp limit = 30

10. Joyce Whalley Trophy (presented by Mr G Whalley in 2001)      Played for alongside a Stableford competition.      Hcp limit = 30

2. Captain’s Trophy (introduced by Mrs V Roberts in 2001)        Best score of the day on Lady Captain’s Day Hcp limit = 30

11. Long Driving Trophy (presented by Mrs W D Whitemore)    No entrance fee.   Open to all at Spring Meeting.   One drive only taken from the 16th tee during the competition.  To qualify the drive must end on the fairway.

3. Coronation Cups – Foursomes (presented by Miss Glenn Bott)       Players choose partners.       First 8 couples qualify for elimination by match play.      Hcp limit = 30.              3/8 difference of combined handicap

12. Millennium Cup (presented by Mrs J Pearson in 1999)   Played over 36 holes   Hcp limit = 30   Medal competition, two rounds.

4. Divisional Cups     (a) Frost Cup (presented by Mrs A B Frost)    Open to players with hcp 30 – 36 inclusive. Knock-out match play. Hcp allowance = 3/4 of difference.  

13. Nell Priddey Trophy (presented by Mr A Priddey)    Open to all divisions.   No entry fee for the trophy.   Eclectic competition. 2 rounds, 1st Medal in July, 2nd Stableford end July.   Hcp limit = 30

(b) Dorothy Walker Cup (presented by Mrs C P Walker)    Open to players with hcp 20-29 inclusive. Knock-out match play.     Hcp allowance = 3/4 of difference.

14.  President’s cup (presented by Mrs H Street)   Open to all divisions. Qualifying round = medal. 16 to qualify, then knock-out competition, match play   Hcp limit = 30. Hcp allowance for match play =3/4 of difference.

(c) Jessie Jarvis Cup (presented by Mrs Cecil Bostock)    Open to first division players with hcp 0-20.    Knock-out match play.    Hcp allowance = 3/4 of difference

15. Queen Elizabeth Trophy (presented by Mrs A G Price)     Awarded to the player with the lowest net aggregate score of any 6 medals played in January to December each year.

5. Dorothy Revill Trophy (presented by Mrs J L Revill)   Eclectic open to business ladies with hcp 21 to 36 .     6 rounds, 1st round 1-18, thereafter 1-18, 1-10, 11-18 to total 6 rounds.

16. Scratch Cup (presented by Mrs H R Titley) Competed for annually at the Spring Meeting. Best gross score. No entry fee.

6. Etta Strefford              Foursomes competition played with Club Coronation Foursomes  Hcp limit = 1/2 of combined handicap.

17. Spring Bowl (presented by the club)    Competed for annually at the Spring Meeting   Medal Play     Hcp limit = 30

7. Freda Smith Trophy    Foursomes. Players choose partners.    Awarded to payers with the lowest net score.     Hcp limit = 30. Hcp allowance = 1/2 combined

18. Vets Trophy (presented by Mrs M Pacey in 2004)  Open to all ladies 55 years of age and over. Attached either to a Medal or Stableford competition.     Hcp limit = 30 

8. Jay Brown Trophy   Eclectic. Open to business ladies with hcp up to 20.                                  6 rounds to be played as for Dorothy Revill Trophy.

19. Eve Morris Trophy   Best gross score of the season

9. Jimmy Lee Pitcher   Four-ball-better-ball Medal.    Hcp limit = 30

5. Captain’s Putter. (Presented by D. Verity).    36 holes best gross played on Club Captain’s Day for Juniors.

3. Ron Hume Trophy. (Presented by R. Hume). Nominated Junior Medal best gross.

6. Colin Swift Trophy. (Presented by C. Swift).                 Awarded to the player of the year.
