Jazz is one of my first loves. I have been fortunate enough to learn and perform with some incredibly talented jazz musicians from across the globe. These musical experiences have ranged from swinging big band arrangements to intimate, experimental be-bop and beyond. Recent composers I have collaborated with include Chris Johnson, Toby 'Peewee' Kennedy and Chris Bennett.

It's a bit of an over used term, but as a drummer, the rhythms from the parts of the world that we know as Latin America are to me, the most joyous and exiting to play. As well as performing within groups as a solo percussionist, I also compose and perform with my own band 'Battuta'. This is a collaboration of primarily Brazilian style carnival rhythms alongside a funk/big band horn section.

The ancient percussion from countries such as Gambia, Turkey and Egypt are also a particular passion for me and I am fortunate enough to use these percussive influences in much of my work.

60's

I regularly play within the 60's music scene, which is still incredibly alive. I perform with the likes of Gerry and the Pacemakers, Wayne Fontana, Dave Dee, the Platters, PJ Proby, Tony Crane and more. It's a real eye opener and an opportunity to play in some of the world's great venues, such as London's Albert Hall and the Palladium to theatres and stadiums in Australia, China, America and Europe.

I currently perform with a few function bands. Line ups include the following:

The 'Feds' born from a Johnny Cash tribute tour we embarked on with legendary sixties artist PJ Proby. It's a great 6 piece band comprising of 3 girls and 3 gents playing, pop, funk, soul, country, jazz and classical.

The 'S.J.'s (Soul Journey) which is the Pacemakers without Gerry Marsden. We primarily play soul music, fronted by seasoned professional Garth Watt-Roy (previously with Paul Young and the Q tips and Bonnie Tyler).

In addition, there are gigs I fix with the well oiled musical machine the 'Watermelon Music Club'. This collective is made up of some of the finest Jazz/Funk/Latin players in the UK.
