Hi!
Results are: Art B, Science Double Award A (x2), Maths B, English A. For pictures click here. If you're wondering why it is I have only done these four subjects, it's because I have an illness called Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, or M.E. for short. This disease (which I have had now for over 4 years) affects my nervous system and causes me to feel extremely tired after doing relatively little. Click here to access the Action For M.E. web site and find out more. I raised money during M.E. Awareness Week 12 - 19 May 2002! I've now half way through my A level Biology course and will take an IT course soon. I'm also studying with the Open University. There are links to useful biology sites below.
Of all the subjects I am interested in, art and science are the two that I love most of all. Art has been an escape route for me in many ways. The first secondary school that I went to was something of a nightmare because my individual way of thinking made me a prime target for bullying. When I finally left in October 1998 (due to M.E.) I began drawing as a way of venting all the frustration I had been feeling. I am now working towards a possible future in design and illustration, or medicine. I greatly admire artists such as Bob Eggelton and Brom among others. My ultimate dream is to be involved in film production, especially concept work for major science fiction and fantasy productions. In this field, people such as Stan Winston, Phil Tippett and Dennis Muren have provided huge inspiration to me. I would love to think that with enough hard work and some luck, I might one day be able to reach their level of expertise. Changing the subject, what do I look like? Well, I am quite tall with rather fair skin, short, dark blonde hair and blue eyes. Unfortunately I can never pin down the two latter as I have a habit of dying my hair weird and wonderful colours (it was violet in October 2000,- it was blue at Easter 2001 and now it's back to red after being green for Christmas!! Still with me?) and I own a pair of purple contact lenses! The only thing I refuse to use (unless it's for fancy dress) is make up. The only kind I wear is nail polish to stop myself biting them! As you may expect I make sure it is of a suitably lurid colour! Before M.E. entered my life, I enjoyed cycling, walking and roller blading. Those things have been put on hold for the moment, but I'm looking forward to doing them again soon. Art is now my main hobby although I also find time for baking, reading, computing, going to the cinema with friends and, watching science fiction and fantasy, Star Trek and Star Wars being my favourite. You can see details of programmes on some of my favourite channels. Most recently, I have begun to enjoy war gaming with Games Workshop, and, although still a novice, I get the feeling it will feature quite prominently in my life for years to come! You can view some of my miniatures - Bretonnians, Lizardmen and Wood Elves - here. Another love of mine is travelling, of which I hope to do lots of once I get over my illness. As well as taking two trips to Spain with my previous school, I have also visited several places in Germany, France, England and other areas of mainland Europe. I have also been to Disneyland Paris several times, which I enjoyed immensely. Click here to see images of our stay at Disneyland Paris. I hope to go again in the near future. You can have a look at our family holiday destinations around Europe by clicking here. An ambition of mine on the same lines is to compete in one of the Discovery Eco-Challenges, both because of my wish to see remote locations and also to say that I have suffered from M.E. and still accomplished this. View my first flying lesson - click here. I passed my driving test in February 2003, learning to drive with the British School Of Motoring. If you would like to see more, visit "Dancing On Air" to see some of my early drawings, or take a look at some of my photographs in the Gallery. You can view a short video of me here.
Well, I've told you a little something about myself, perhaps you can tell me something about yourself? You can email me here.
