Andy Miles
Born 15th January 1949. He spent his early life in Malvern
in Worcestershire, where his father worked as an M.O.D. Scientist.
As a child he roamed the same hills that inspired Elgar to write
many of his musical masterpieces, and also frequented the same
theatre for which Bernard Shaw wrote plays. His first ambition
was to become an artist, and he gained his degree in fine art,
at Stourbridge and Leicester. His talents are well represented
in this book as the front cover design, and all the fine pencil
illustrations in the book are all his original work.
Writing has always been part of his repertoire, with an early
interest in oriental poetry, but this is his first novel, written
only last year.
He has remained living in Leicester, since leaving college,
and the setting for the story, where it takes place on Earth,
is a sort of parallel Leicester. Leicester people will certainly
recognise places and institutions referred to, though the names
have been subtly altered.
Andy Miles is a fully qualified member of the prestigious Hypnotherapy
Society, an exponent of Karate, and a life-long student of comparative
religion, spirituality and meditation, so all the references
to these areas in the book are from his own extensive knowledge
and experience.
