Well.Fare was born in 2005 after Ted & Jane Bellingham visited the BMK School in Uganda as part of a Send A Cow Delegration from the UK.

The BMK School is located in rural Uganda - some three hours from the capital Kampala.

Ted & Jane spent time with the Head of the School and asked him what his pupils needed most.

"Water"

The children of the BMK School have to walk a mile to the nearest well and a mile back.....

Ted & Jane returned to the UK and posed the challenge that the school had set them before the membership of Dorking United Reformed Church, where they were members.

The Church backed the project to fundraise for the BMK School and Well.Fare was born in May 2006.

Less than a year later the funds had been raised to drill for a deep-bore well.

Water was struck - in fact a lot of water was struck.

In August 2007, Ted & Jane returned to the BMK School for the official opening of the well.

Well.Fare continues to support the BMK School and has just raised over £9,000 to fund the building of new classrooms.

Our next project is a solar electricity system.
