"Ann English ... is not only the area's best female singer-songwriter but has to be up there with the UK's best." The Lift Global Music Club.

"WONDERFUL LIFE  ...   WONDERFUL STUFF! Thank you, Ann." Bill Mitton. Full review here.

Ann English is a superb singer-songwriter and master guitar player. She tells us that among her influences are the likes of Joni Mitchell, Tom Waite, and Neil Young. That's as may be, her work has a refreshing originality that's a delight to hear.

She claims to have been around the folk scene for over 40 years, but she's far too young for that! What is true, though, is that she's supported artists such as Mike Harding, Jasper Carrot, Bernard Wrigley, Bert Jansch and Jacqui McShee's Pentangle. And that's just for starters...

For such an experienced and talented artist, she maintains a remarkably low profile. So don't be surprised if you haven't heard of her yet - just make sure you do! Here's her latest gig list:

July
Saturday July 17th Saddleworth Museum, High St, Uppermill.
Tuesday July 20th Jabez Clegg, Portsmouth St, Manchester.
Thursday July 22nd The Railway, Greenfield - band gig.
August
Friday August 20th The Britons' Protection, Manchester.
Saturday August 28th The Church, Uppermill. Music Festival Day 12am - 12 pm.
Sunday August 29th The Lees, Oldham. Music Festival - all dayer.

Ann also does a regular gig on the LAST Sunday of the month at The Astley Arms - it's on Chapel Street, off Crescent Road, Dukinfield.

And if you can't catch her at one of her gigs, you can still hear her on CD: her latest is Wonderful Life with twelve exceptional tracks. It's amazing value at only £11.00 including p&p! And you've got three ways to get it, so there's no excuse!
