Q36: Can I link to your website?
Q37: Do you do link exchanges?
Q38: I have another question that isn't answered here. What do I do?
Q: Can I buy prints of your work?
A:
Certainly! To buy prints online, view your chosen image and scroll down. You can use the "Add to Basket" buttons to make your order and pay securely
through Paypal using a credit or debit card. You don't need to have a Paypal account, and you
won't be required to set one up unless you want to.
Q: What if I'd rather pay by cheque?
A: If you're in the UK please feel free to pay by personal cheque instead. See Contact Me for more details.
Q: What kind of prints do you sell?
A: Most of the prints available through this site are archival
prints on matt photo paper. They will last at least 65-100 years
without fading. A few of my images are also available as canvas
prints or giclee prints, which are also archival quality.
Q: Do you sign the prints?
A: Sometimes I get print orders shipped directly from my printers
in the USA, which means they won't be signed. However, if I have
the print in stock your order will usually come from me and I will be
signed. If you particularly want your print to be signed then let
me know, but this may mean you have to wait longer to receive your
order.
Q: How long will it take to receive my order?
A: It depends what you have ordered and where you are
situated. Most orders should arrive in 1-3 weeks. If you
need your items in a rush please let me know - and feel free to email
me in advance for a delivery estimate. Your order will take
longer to arrive if you pay by cheque, as I will have to wait for it to
clear.
Q: How much does postage cost?
A: Postage costs can be found in the table below. These are
the same no matter where in the world your order is going.

Q: Do you sell ACEOs?
A: Yes I do, although so far you won't find any on this
website. I usually sell my ACEOs (both originals and limited
edition prints) on eBay. My seller ID on eBay is
"flyttamouse". You can also find out about my eBay auctions by
subscribing to my
newsletter.
Q: Pardon? What's an ACEO??
A: ACEO
stands for Art Cards Editions and Originals. These are miniature
works of art which may be either original pieces or prints.
They're ideal for framing, or can be displayed as a collection in a
special folder. ACEOs are great for trading, but are also
an affordable way to buy original art. Each one is just 2.5 x 3.5
inches!
Q: Do you have originals for sale?
A:
Some of my originals are for sale, some are already sold and a few are
not for sale. The status of the piece usually appears
under the image, along with the price, if applicable. If you
can't find the information you need or have decided you want to buy a
piece then please email me.
Q: What kind of merchandise can I buy which features your images?
A: As well as prints, greetings cards, mouse mats and magnets are available through this site.
Ellen
Million Graphics, based in the USA, offers greetings cards, bookmarks, mouse mats, totes, windowclings,
stickers, T-shirts, baby rompers, aprons and magnets featuring some of my images.
Candles Enchanted are also in the USA. They use my artwork on a range of scented candles. The
Artbay (in the UK) offers mugs, with more designs and products coming soon. Please do support my licensing partners.
Q: What if I'd like to buy a T-shirt/greetings card/mug but with
one of your other images on it? What if I'd like to buy a canvas print
or an ACEO of a particular image and it's not available on your site?
A: Please get in touch! Most of the time I will be able to get
the item of your choice printed, though it may take several weeks or
even longer to create a new product.
Q: Are your prints and other merchandise available at wholesale prices?
A: Yes. A pricelist is available on request for anyone who
is interested in buying my prints in bulk for resale. My partners in the USA,
Candles Enchanted and
Ellen
Million Graphics,
also offer merchandise featuring
my images at wholesale prices, including scented candles, greetings
cards, bookmarks, totes, mouse mats, baby rompers, aprons,
windowclings,
stickers, T-shirts and magnets.
Q: I don't live in the UK. Can I still order through your website?
A: Absolutely! In fact, most of my printing is done in the USA so
you may even receive your order faster if that's where you live.
Most of the prices on this site are displayed in UK pounds, but many other
currencies are also accepted. Paypal calculates the how much you
will pay using its latest exchange rate when you go through the
checkout. If you have a Paypal account you can log in and then use their Currency Converter
to work out the price in advance. Otherwise, you can get
some idea of the exchange rates from the table below, though these will
not be very accurate!

Q: I'm broke! What can I get that is free??
A: Please see my
Freebies page for free eCards, banners and desktop wallpaper.
Q: Can I send an eCard through your site?
A: Yes, you can send free eCards featuring my images to anyone with an email address. Use the Freebies button or go straight to the eCard page.
Q: What's the name of that gorgeous font you use for titles and buttons?
A: It's called "Beyond Wonderland" and was created by Chris
Hansen who has very generously made it available under a freeware
licence. You can download it at
www.1001fonts.com.
Q: Are your images available for licensing?
A: Many of my images are available for licensing. I'm
always interested in finding new licensing partners, so please get in
touch.
Q: Do you take commissions?
A: Yes I do. Please see my
Commissions page for more details.
Q: I've written a story which I'm hoping to get published. Will you illustrate it for me?
A: I'll be happy to consider it. However, please bear in
mind that I cannot illustrate for free! I will either need to sign a
contract with your publisher before I start work or you'll need to pay
me yourself. Please see my
Commissions
page for an indication of my prices, which will of course vary
depending on the number and size of illustrations and the intended
distribution of your book.
Q: I'm doing a school art project on you. Can you help me?
A:
It's always nice to hear from students! However, before you contact me
with questions, please take a good look around the site. You
might find useful information on my Profile page, as well as in these
FAQs. Sometimes there are notes about an individual piece of
artwork below the image. If you have questions which aren't
answered on the website do send me an email and I'll try to help. Unfortunately I don't have any freebies I can send you!
Q: Do you do school visits or run art workshops?
A: Yes, I do have experience of running workshops and
collaborative art events for school groups, young people, adults with
learning disabilites and members of the general public. Please
contact me for prices, which depend upon how much preparation time will
be needed, as well as contact time and the cost of travel and materials.
Q: Do you do writing workshops?
A: I haven't yet, although I'm happy to give it a go! I do have experience of giving readings from my published novel.
Q: How can I find out about your new work, exhibitions and eBay auctions?
A:
I have an emailed newletter for friends, customers and anyone else
who's interested! It comes out weekly at most, but usually far less
often, and it lists the highlights of my eBay auctions, as well as giving the latest news about new work posted
on my website, or new projects I'm involved in. If you'd like to
be added to the mailing list, please email me. The newsletter is brief and image-free, so it shouldn't clog up your
inbox too much! I won't pass your address onto anyone else, and
if at any time you decide you no longer wish to receive the newsletter,
let me know and I'll immediately remove you from the mailing list.
Q: Am I allowed to use your images to make signature tags, email stationery, websets, desktop wallpapers or tubes?
A: Please visit
Artistic Minds Inc. Signature tags, desktop wallpapers etc. may only be made from my
artwork using a licensing package purchased through AMI, and in
accordance with their terms and conditions.
Q: Am I allowed to use your images on my site?
A: Yes, you can use images from my site
provided that
your site is not offensive (eg. pornographic, racist, etc.) and that
you credit me as the artist and create a link back to my website.
Please don't hotlink to my images or alter them in any way. If
you use my images please do send me an email me with a link to your
site.
Q: What should I do if I see your images being misused? For
instance if you are not credited or I think you haven't given
permission?
A: Please email me to let me know.
Q: If I buy a print or an original, am I allowed to make copies of it?
A: No, you are not allowed to make copies by any
means. If you do you will be breaking copyright law.
Q: What inspires you? What media do you use? Where can I read a brief artist's biography about you?
A: Please see my profile page for this kind of information.
Q: Are you working on another novel?
A: Yes, but very slowly! Most of my time is taken up with
artwork, which is usually more pressing than writing. Also I'm
quite deliberately writing my current novel in fragments, in a very
non-linear way. The plan is to eventually patchwork it all
together (and probably throw nine tenths of it out!). I'm finding
this quite a fruitful style of working, albeit a slow one.
Q: In your gallery I see lots of fantasy art, but you also have
paintings with Bible verses and Christian themes. Isn't that a
strange combination?
A: I don't think Christianity and fantasy are a strange
combination, although other people often do! The Bible doesn't
discourage imagination and creativity - in fact it contains books of
poetry, and Jesus himself more often taught with stories than
sermons. There have also been many well known Christian fantasy
writers in recent times, including C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkein.
Q: What exactly do you believe?
A:
I believe that all humans were made in the image of God. Among
other things, this means we're free to make our own choices, and it's
because of selfish human choices that war and lies and crime
happen. I believe God is distraught about all the suffering
people experience on earth (not to mention the destruction of the earth
itself) but in order to end it he'd either have to take away our
ability to make our own choices (effectively turning us into his
puppets) or he'd have to destroy everyone who is responsible.
This would be fair enough, but sadly it would mean wiping out the
entire human population of the world, because every single one of us
makes selfish choices which cause other people to suffer. What is
needed is for people to freely choose to live godlike lives, motivated
by love. God came to earth as a man called Jesus to explain what
this meant in words and actions. However, people don't like to be
told how to live their lives, and they killed him, as he knew they
would. When he was killed, Jesus experienced death, which he did
not deserve, but which all other human beings do deserve for the
suffering they cause God and other people. In other words, Jesus
died in our place, and anyone who accepts this and is sorry for their
selfish choices can be forgiven and not have to die! After his death
Jesus came back to life and so will everyone who accepts him as their
Lord and saviour.
Q: I'm confused. I've seen work by an artist called Katy
Jones before, but the style was rather different to what I see on this
site. Is there another Katy Jones??
A: Yes, there is! There is another artist called Katy Jones based
in Edinburgh. She is also known as Katherine Jones (I'm not -
Katy is my full name) and you can see her work at Artistri.
Q: I've heard you do pyrography. Are there any examples of this on your site?
A: There's a photo of one of my sylvan pendants. I'm planning to put a small pyrography gallery up on this site in the future.
Q: What is pyrography?
A: Pyrography is the art of burning designs onto another
material, often wood or leather, using a tool which is something like a
soldering iron.
Q: Can I find your work online anywhere else? Are you a member of any online art communities?
A: I have portfolios on many different websites, but the only one I use regularly is deviantART. Please feel free to watch me if you're also a Deviant!
Q: Can I link to your website?
A: Of course! There are banners on my Links page you can use for this purpose.
Q: Do you do link exchanges?
A: That depends on the nature of your site. I only link to sites that fit in with the content of my own site.
Q: I have another question that isn't answered here. What do I do?
A: Send me an email!
