REETH COMMUNITY ORCHARD |

In late July the wild flower meadow was cut and raked into rows to dry, - no mean feat considering the number of sudden deluges over the last few weeks. |
A blackbird plays Leap-Frog, sparrows enjoy the dusty paths and the camera takes a bird’s eye view. |

Rain-drops on lilies..(but no whiskers on kittens) |

Strange fruit, - the first Williams pear |
Unusual shapes... |
Visitors to the garden, enjoying the sunshine and admiring the tall, pale yellow flowers of this helianthus, probably “Lemon Queen”. |

The Open Afternoon held on the same day provided refreshments and guided tours of the garden for visitors and hopefully prospective new working members. Many hands would undoubtedly make much lighter work! |

The pruning workshop on August 16th attracted much interest. The expert application of a sharp pruning saw soon sorted out the apple cordons. |
