Hi! Welcome to the home pages of Spinnaker.

Spinnaker is a friendly group of close to 60 ladies who enjoy singing, and we enjoy singing well!

Barbershop is a style you may well associate with men sporting big moustaches and wearing aprons. As you can see and hear from this site, its really not a bit like that - certainly not in our case.

We sing barbershop because we love the sound of it. There's really nothing quite like ringing, four-part harmony.

If you are interested in what we do, and can sing, please get in touch with us.
We welcome new members; you could be just about to make a whole lot of new friends

Latest News:
2007 FREE SINGING COURSE started September 26th
In 2005 we ran a singing course which was extremely successful. We are now 2 weeks into our singing couse and enjoying the company of 25 guests.
Please come and join us - see here for details

A message from the President (of Spinnaker)...

"Spinnaker Chorus is an exciting new group of ladies barbershop singers under the direction of Mike Taylor, a well known member of BABS (British Association of Barbershop Singers).
The Chorus formed in July 2004, and is now fully chartered as a member of Sweet Adelines International, a world-wide organisation dedicated to promoting women's barbershop singing and "harmonising the world".
Our commitment is to be a top quality chorus, using the educational opportunities and musical excellence offered by SAI.
In May 2005, we performed at our first National Convention in Plymouth, and had a fantastic time. We topped that in 2006 by winning the mid-size chorus division and by being placed 4th overall.
This hobby is incredible fun, from which we forge new friendships when people join us, or with those we meet along the way, and are inspired by our mutual love of music and singing."
