T'AI CHI BROADSWORD
No beginners sabre course is currently planned
Broadsword (or Sabre) is one of the traditional Chinese Weapons used in many of their martial arts. In T'ai Chi this weapon emphasises circular, spiraling movements from the centre that are characteristic of the art - it is an excellent introduction to the weapons aspect of our art and good for developing rooting and centering and to help us understand the relationship between upper and lower body.
The form we will learn is a combination of T'ai Chi and its sister Internal art, Ba Gua. In addition there will be plenty of simple exercises and partnerwork to make an enjoyable and interesting course suitable to people new to the weapons arts of T'ai Chi or to those wishing to revise what they have learnt on previous courses.
