UMRA
OK, so we have been 'outed'; (Phew, that's better!) you now
know that we subscribe to the above mentioned newsgroup on the internet. The
original misguided purpose of this newsgroup was to provide an opportunity for
listeners to 'The Archers' on BBC Radio 4 to discuss the storylines and
characters on the internet and to exchange thoughts and plot predictions. The
newsgroup has evolved into a widespread group of individuals (and a few
families) who discuss ... well, almost anything except 'The
Archers' - unless it is absolutely necessary!
One of the offshoots from UMRA is the Annual
Barbeque held in Reading. There is also an annual
meet in a Public House (The Exmouth in Cheltenham) organised by Min Lacey; there
are a few photos of these meets on the same link.
Shock Horror; There are people who think
that The Archers are fictional! This page has been set
up so that those who maintain this to be so can have their say... (I don't
believe them m'self, but I like to be fair to all.)
