UMRA BBQ 2003

Ok, so we finally enjoyed the weather that we had been asking for every year - yes, it was soggy Saturday in Reading on May 17th. 2003. Despite 'the odd shower', all attending UMRATs seem to have enjoyed themselves and here are our photos as evidence that it takes more than the odd shower to defeat an UMRAT! The 'Gaze Bo's' were erected purely to shelter the masses from sunburn you understand :-))) !

Food and drink are the err... food and drink of such occasions - and there was plenty of both as usual.

Keith Lucas was lucky to get away with his lamb ... we only had organic pork and beef on the barbie ...

Al (W.H.) Menzies was not going to be prevented from running the auction by a mere drop of dampness!

You have heard of 'The Land of Leather'? Well this is the Land of Hippos - a Hell'en Archer free zone! (The hippo family look forward to their annual outing on UMRA BBQ Day!) Pauline is holding Adam Travers Macey Hippo as she has just won him in the 'name the hippo' competition.
