Please Note
The normal entry requirements for intake for each of our undergraduate courses
are noted below. Students with non-standard entry qualifications should consult
with the relevant Admissions Tutor.
BA [Hons] Environmental Planning course [UCAS code : K450 BA/Plan]
Admission is to the Strathclyde Business School, where :
- All applicants : if Mathematics is not offered at Higher Grade or Advanced Level,
you must offer it at Standard Grade or GCSE.
- SCE Higher Grade : you need a minimum of 4 Highers, normally with grades of BBBC
- Applicants holding GCE Advanced Level :
First Year Entry : you need a minimum of 3 A levels with grades of CCD or 2 at BB.
Second Year Entry : not normally offered owing to professional accreditation of course

BA with Joint Honours in Geography & Planning course. [UCAS code : KL48 BA/GeoPl]
Admission is to the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, where :
- All applicants : must have Ordinary or Standard Grade at 3 or better in either Mathematics or Statistics or a science subject.
- SCE Higher Grade applicants : you need a minimum of 4 or 5 Higher Grades, including English, with grades of BBBB or BBBCC
- Sixth Year Pupils : if you seek entry on the basis of fifth and sixth year results, a clear improvement in this Higher group will be expected. Higher Grade groups of AABB or ABBBC are required, including English. CSYS is an acceptable alternative to upgrading.
- Applicants holding GCE Advanced Levels :
First year entry : you will need three passes at CCC or two passes at BC at a single sitting and evidence of a broadly based education.
Direct Entry to Second Year of the Joint BA : is not normally offered owing to the intention to seek professional accreditation of this course together with a 12 month postgraduate planning course.

BA Business [UCAS code : N150 BA/Deg].
Registration is with the Strathclyde Business School and leads to
the opportunity to study Environmental Planning Studies as a Principal
Subject and to achieve a Single or Joint Honours award in Environmental
Planning Studies.
- All applicants : must have Ordinary or Standard Grade at 3 or better in either Mathematics and Higher Mathematics is recommended.
- SCE Higher Grade applicants : for entry to all principal subjects [except Accounting] you need a minimum of 4 or 5 Higher Grades with grades of AABB or ABBCC
- Sixth Year Pupils : Candidates who are marginally under-qualified at the end of their fifth year are invited to contact the selector for advice prior to the start of sixth year.
- Applicants holding GCE Advanced Levels :
First year entry : you will need three passes at BBC or two passes at AB, reflecting a broadly based education. Candidates not including Advanced Level English and Mathematics must offer, as a minimum, GCSE English Language and Mathematics, except in the case of those entering principal subjects Accounting, Mathematics and Management Science, where GCE Advanced level Mathematics is required. For principal subject French, GCE Advanced level at C is required.
Direct Entry to Second Year : you will need three passes at BBB, but entry direct to second year depends on choice of principal subjects.
