The Department welcomes applications from students in the UK or overseas for full or part-time postgraduate research degrees. Departmental research specialisms cover the fields of local economic development, area regeneration, community development, environmental planning and statutory planning Research on applied issues and planning policy ranges from the UK, Europe, selected countries in America, Asia and Africa. Located in the centre of Glasgow, the University of Strathclyde is ideally situated for applied policy research on many aspects of the environment, planning and development.
The Department regularly and successfully nominates strong candidates for research studentships funded by external bodies such as the ESRC and overseas institutions.
The University also offers a number of postgraduate studentships each year. The Department welcomes applications from students with a strong academic record.
