- are the Environmental Planning Department of the University
of Strathclyde in Glasgow; a department within the Strathclyde
Business School.
- are devoted wholly to research and teaching
within the field of environmental planning and development; we exist to accumulate,
distill and extend knowledge of urban and regional planning and to train graduates
for professional careers in increasingly diversified fields, within the United
Kingdom, in Europe and overseas
- our Research Assessment Exercise rating for the quality of research activities
[1992-1996] is "3a" indicating that the majority of research is of national,
and some of international quality
- have some 200 students following our
courses and classes in 1999/2000
- have an active Graduates Association which aims to
provide networking facilities for our graduates and also offers contact with
the professional world of practice to our students
- have graduates in every Continent and are proud
of the various career paths and diversity of our graduate destinations
- Co-operate :
- by hosting the 9th
AESOP Conference on Urban Regeneration in Glasgow in 1995 ; this event
was deemed a significant success and attracted some 250 international delegates
to the University of Strathclyde
- by hosting the National Young Planners Conference in 1999 which attracted
150 students and student members of the RTPI
- by initiating and contributing Directors to the formed European Urban Institute
