THE RUSHMOOR CHOIR was founded in 1943

 as the Aldershot Choral Society

What are we? 

The Rushmoor Choir is a 40 strong group of adult and student singers committed to the preservation of the traditional art of choral singing.

 

Where are we based?

We perform mainly in the Rushmoor Borough area (primarily Aldershot and Farnborough) in Hampshire, England UK. 

 

When and where do we rehearse?

Tuesday evenings 7:45 - 9:45pm during term time in the Union Building, Hospital Hill, Aldershot (near the Princes Hall). View map.

 

What concerts and types of music do we perform?

We give two or three major concerts a year, encompassing a wide range of choral music of all periods and styles, performing mainly in the Rushmoor area but on occasion venturing further afield—members of the Choir have performed on tour in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Holland, Poland, and Sweden.  

 

Where do we perform?

Most of our concerts are in St Andrew’s Garrison Church of Scotland,

Queens Avenue, Aldershot.  View map.  

 

How do you become a member?

New members are always welcome and anyone interested in joining should contact the Membership Secretary, Anne Rogers, tel. 01252 850802, who will be pleased to give you further details regarding membership.

Potential new members are welcome to come along and sing for a few weeks
to find out if we are the group for them before committing themselves.

 

How much does it cost?

Fees are broadly in line with other similar organisations in the area:

Adults £90 per annum (£30 per term)

Full time students: £30 per annum (£10 per term)
