The 1947 Collar Badge is considered by some to be only an
experimental Cap Badge for the newly adopted beret.
But the recent discovery of at least one 'Right Facing' example
(illustrated above) suggests that at least one batch was
manufactured.
Blackened Cap Badge (with lugs)
While it seems that no Officers Blackened Cap Badges with
blades were produced during the 1947 - 1953 period,
It would be safe to assume that the 1918 pattern badges continued
to be worn.
This blackened example was produced in India possibly for
newly promoted officers.

The late 1940's
also saw the start of a new style of Military Badge.
The War Office policy was that all future metal badges and
buttons should be of a non-tranishable material,
and trails on an Anodised Badge with a high shine metal finish
began.
The RAOC were among the very first to field trail these badges
and buttons.
Examples of 1918 'Anodised' buttons are Scarce, while 1947 Badges
are considered Rare.
