Ordnance Insignia of the British Army
CRAOC, Mounted Division
With the formation of the Royal Logistic Corps in April 1993, This was the last occasion that the Commander (Supply) Royal Army Ordnance Corps (CRAOC) carried out a mounted duty in support of the Major General Commanding, The Household Division. Lt Colonel Richard Bird is pictured astride his mount, wearing full Blue Service Dress. His name will be last of twelve to be inscribed on a special Corps Infantry Pattern Sword along with his twelve RAOC Redressers with dates of service, which is worn on official duties.
The title of this post is now Commander Supply, Royal Logistic Corps. A new Cavalry Sword has been commissioned to follow the tradition.
Note the RAOC Horse Brasses on the head and chest.
