RAOC Prototype Small Helmet Plate


Drawing of a die-struck badge 80mm high, the central device being mounted and pieced for a red velvet backing.
It is stamped ‘Gaunts London’ The back plate is modelled on the star plate of the 1862-69 Shako plate.
In the centre is the Ordnance Arms within the Garter with the title ROYAL ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS surrounding it

It is not known if this badge was ever used, or if so for what purpose. How how many were produced.
