An eight-pointed star, topmost point displaced by Imperial crown.
On this a laurel-wreath and within the wreath the Garter. In the
centre a shield bearing the Ordnance Arms. The shield is in
silver, on a black-velvet backing.
Worn by the officers of the Army Ordnance Department and Junior
Officers & Warrant Officers of the Army Ordnance Corps
from 1902 onwards after the death of Queen Victoria,
and continued to be used till the Blue Cloth Home Service Helmet
was discontinued,
