St Barbara's Garrison Church, Deepcut

For over 20 years after the war, Saint Barbara's Church at Hilsea remained the Corps' Church. However after the RAOC Training Centre re-located to Deepcut to the then Garrison Church of St. Michaels and All Angels. Which became the focal point for important Corps' services. St. Michaels Church, essentially of wood and corrugated-iron construction was in need of major repair. Over the next 8 years much was done to improve the structure of the building. Corps Standards were hung, and stained glass windows installed behind the alter. After the Corps' withdrawal from Hilsea in 1967 and the closure of St. Barbara's Church there, Deepcut Church was renamed Saint Barbara's Garrison Church and recognised as the Corps Church. The final move from Hilsea was the pipe organ to Deepcut in 1968.

Sometime in the last 10 years the front iron gates were replaced. But the old RAOC badges were replaced along with the new RLC ones.
