Green House won this year’s eisteddfod with a massive 252 points, closely followed by Blue, Yellow and Red Houses.
Rhys Bridge was chaired the Bard with his winning poem, My Head is Numb.
My head is Numb from the heat my helmet’s gathered I hear a firing squad in the distance Probably for the French Resistance I see the blue sea and white sand Covered in debris of crashed bombers My feet are sore and bruised from marching My hands sweaty from holding my rifle The rations are getting worse My once strong body is now thin and weak The barbed wire is like a barrier Stopping me from helping the screaming men Whose bodies are being burrowed into my bullets “HELP!!! HELP!!!” These are the words that pierce my heart Yet I do nothing, nothing, nothing. My body is no longer mine My sucked out soul is long gone I’m as empty as an oyster’s shell As empty as the pits of Hell.
