The candles used are ‘Hopi Ear Candles’ which are EU approved for medical product safety and quality. They contain pure beeswax, honey extract, traditional herbs (e.g. Sage, St John’s Wort, Camomile) and pure essential oils. You lie on the couch, on your side. Tissue paper is placed around your ear. The ‘filter’ end of the Hopi Ear Candle is placed slightly into your ear (so it is comfortable), lit and held in place by your therapist through-out. As the candle burns small ashes may fall onto the hands of the therapist or onto the tissue (they are cold by the time they fall and cause no discomfort). The lit candle creates a chimney effect and a gentle suction which can help clear aural congestion. Treatment concludes with a brief facial massage.
