John Kilbey.
Early in August (2001) I received an email from John Kilbey with some photo's attached. John's Father, also named John, was a member of A Turret Gunhouse Crew and saw action on the Arctic Convoys, in the South Atlantic and at the end of the war in the Far East.
On this and the following page are copies of the photographs sent for inclusion.

The above photograph was taken sometime between
25th April and 12th July 1945 when HMS London was at Simonstown, South
Africa, for her fourth refit. John writes, "My father went up
to Kimberley in 1945 when the London was in Simonstown for a refit and stayed with a Mrs
Morris and her family whose son was in the Navy too. For my Dad it was a highlight
of his service as it was certainly nicer than Archangel and Murmansk!"
