HMS Pembroke and St. George's Church.
HMS Pembroke and St. George's Church are now part of the University of Greenwich and Chatham Maritime.
St. George's, completed in 1906, was Pembroke Barracks Naval Church. Although now devoid of pews and no longer used for worship the inner walls hold many memorial plaques, including one for the dead of HMS London. Some of the stained glass windows depict 94 ships badges, these being the Chatham ships lost during the Second World War, whilst the wooden reredos is a memorial to the First World War.
The Church (now called St George's Centre) is open Monday to Friday 12pm to 5pm. Further information can be obtained by telephoning 01634-890222.
