Royal Marine Charles Goddard.
In the middle of October (2004) I received an email from Charlie Goddard's son Darren. Darren had found the website and showed some of the pages to his Father Charlie and asked for details on joining the Association. A quick email to the Chairman, John Parker, and within a few days both Charlie and Darren were members. John and Charlie had last seen each other 55 years ago and made a date to meet on Horse Guards as part of the Four Ships contingent on Remembrance Day, Sunday 14th November.
Whilst checking Charlie's address it was apparent that he and another Association member Phil Jefferys, also a Royal Marine, were close neighbours. A quick call to Phil and within the week the two were together, sharing a beer or two and reminiscing over their time in the Far East and how the intervening 55 years had treated them.
