Master at Arms Sid "Sharkey" Ward.

Sid joined the Royal Navy as a boy seaman at Ganges on 21st. May 1926, retiring 40 years later. Of those 40 years over eight were spent on HMS London in one unbroken spell. Sid's first ship was HMS Iron Duke followed by Resolution, Repulse, Renown, Daring, Wishart commanded by Lord Louis Mountbatten, Cairo, Widgeon and on 26th. July 1941 HMS London. Sid joined the London as the acting Regulating Petty Officer becoming the full RPO six month later on the 28th. January. The 8th. February '43 saw Sid passing professional exams and qualifying for MAA status at a later date.
