A presentation was made to David and his wife which included a Bell Rope and two photographs of HMS London's over the years. The Association was honoured that David and Wendy could be present to represent Dulwich Sea Cadets due to the units close relationship with various HMS London's, including of course, their own "Lovely London".

David has a unique link with HMS London as his father was the Commissioned Gunner. David told the wonderful story when, as a young boy, he spent a few days on HMS London whilst gunnery trials were conducted just prior to her leaving for the Far East. It was whilst watching the Royal Marines in action on the 4 inch guns that David decided the green beret was for him.
