TIPS FOR LOOKING YOUNGER!

Tips for looking younger:

Older skin should avoid powdery products as they show every wrinkle and fine line. Try using a tinted moisturiser or a cream foundation.

  • Using a blusher will warm up the skin and give you a healthy, youthful look. Dark skin warms up well with bronze or a deep berry shades. You should use a cream blusher instead of a powder, it won't feel as dry on your skin. Olive skin suits orange shades, while fair skin suits rose pinks.

  • Rays cause ninety per cent of ageing. So avoid being in the sun and whenever your skin is exposed to the sun, use a high factor protector. Invest in a day cream with protection. Opt for products containing antioxidant ingredients, such as vitamin A and E. When moisturising pay extra attention to the face and neck.
Also make sure your products and make up contain sunscreens. Drink lots of water and eat a well balanced diet. Also quit smoking, unless you want to look old before your time. Smoking and sun exposure cause your skins network of collagen and elastin to break down, which is responsible for keeping it taut and close to the bone. It also increases oxidation of the skin, encouraging premature ageing.

    Tips:

  • Don't forget to use sunscreen on your hands. Hands are exposed to the sun all year round, and they are the first place on the body to show signs of ageing. These signs are often visible sagging skin.

  • When it comes to eye make up less is best. Keep lighter colours to inner areas of the lid and darker colours to the edge. Use eye cream, as this will minimise wrinkles and replace lost moisture.

  • Grey hair can be flattering. Providing you keep it well cut, conditioned and groomed. The texture of your hair will become more wiry as you age. Choose a moisturising shampoo and conditioner. Also use an intensive conditioner at least once a week. If you dye your hair don't insist on colouring your hair the same colour it was when you were younger.

  • Maintaining muscle tone with regular exercise is a must have. Gently body brushing is a great way to stimulating the circulation and reduces cellulite. Use an exfoliating shower gel and indulging in moisturising baths can help, apply lots of moisturising lotion after a bath or shower.

  • Use a lip pencil all over your lips. This is easier to apply and it won't go over your natural lip line. If your lips feel dry using a lip pencil, add a little balm over them. If you do use lipstick choose a shade that is natural looking. Use a pale lipstick, as it will make your lips look fuller.

  • With age your skin becomes drier. Every time you have a bath have a routine of exfoliating followed by moisturising, this helps to remove dead skin cells, and help boost circulation. Exfoliating on mature skin should be done very gently. The skin is less able to keep out irritants. Avoid scrubs that contain scratchy particles, such as crushed apricots, as these will be too harsh for the skin.

  • Groom your eyebrows and pluck any straggly hairs, this will enhance the eyebrows and give the impression of an eyelift and instantly make you look more awake.

    Mature lips:

You should avoid frosted or shimmery lipsticks as these can emphases lines around the lips. You may also notice that matt and long-lasting shades make lips dry, so stick to cream formulations.

    Taking care of dry lips:

Lips can take a beating as the days turn chillier. To keep them soft, avoid licking your lips, as it dries them out. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, and help soothe sore skin with a hard working lip protector. A lipstick never looks good on dry flaky lips so exfoliate them gently with a soft toothbrush and some Vaseline to keep them smooth. Use a lip balm that contains vitamin E, this will make your lips feel extra soft and smooth.
