EXFOLIATING YOUR SKIN?
Exfoliating:
This is a method in which dead skin cells are removed, it can be achieved in varies ways:
- Abrasive masks
- Chemical peels
- Fruit acids
- Oatmeal scrubs
- Manual cleansing
- Abrasive sponge i.e loofahs
Exfoliating is vital for every skin type. It removes dead skin cells, dirt and other impurities, which all can lead to unhealthy skin and blemishes.
Exfoliating effectively lifts away surface oils and dirt that can lead to black heads and blemishes.
Body scrubs:
You should use a body scrub about two to three times a week to give yourself a special treat.
This will help to get rid of dull surface cells to give the skin a smoother texture and better colour, as well as boosting the circulation.
Exfoliating will soften hard skin areas, such as heels, knees and elbows. Body scrubs should be slightly rougher than facial scrubs.
Glycolic acid:
Glycolic acid is a natural alpha hydroxy acid, deprived from sugar cane. Alpha hydroxy acids occur naturally in certain fruits and foods. Glycolic acid is another method used to remove dead skin cells. Out of all alpha hydroxy acids, glycolic is the most promising for skin rejuvenation.
Glycolic acid affects deeper layers of the skin by regenerating collagen and elastin. Clinical studies have shown a disappearance of fine lines and reduction of coarser, deeper wrinkles.
