CLEANSERS, TONERS AND MOISTURISERS
Choosing the right cleanser, toner and moisturiser:
Introduction:
Cleansers remove deep down dirt and make up without disturbing the skins natural balance or stripping away natural oils. Your skin type will determine your cleanser. Here is some information on which cleanser would suit you:
If you have normal skin you can use a creamy liquid or cream cleanser a gentle cleansing soap.
If your skin is dry you should use a cream cleanser or a very rich liquid cleanser. You can also use a cleansing soap as long as its not perfumed.
If you have combination skin or oily you should use a light medicated lotion or milk cleanser, avoid using creamy or rich cleansers.
If your skin is sensitive you should avoid using soap cleansers. Use rich or creamy formulas and make sure their hypoallergenic.
Choosing a toner:
Toners or refreshers should be used after you have cleansed your face. They are designed to remove any traces of cleansing lotion, while also helping to refine pores and to prevent build up of dead skin cells. After toning your skin should feel refreshed and revitalised.
If you have normal skin you should not use toners that contain alcohol, as this will be too harsh for the skin.
If you have dry skin you should use a mild alcohol free toner.
If you have combination or oily skin you should use an alcohol based toner, this will remove deep down dirt and oil. Using an alcohol-based toner will help to dry spots out.
If you have sensitive skin you should use alcohol free and hypoallergenic toners.
Choosing a moisturiser:
Introduction:
Moisturising is the last stage of your daily routine. They help to restore loss of moisture caused by wind, cold air and pollution. A daytime moisturiser should contain sunscreen and should be easily absorbed in to the skin. At night use a rich, creamy, nourishing moisturiser.
If you have normal skin you should use a light cream or lotion, with added sunscreens.
If you have dry skin you should use a rich and creamy moisturiser, with added sunscreens.
If you have combination or oily skin you should use a Very light, non-greasy medicated lotion, with added sunscreens.
If you have sensitive skin you should use a hypoallergenic cream, with added sunscreens.
