Electra is a 10m sloop to the X-99 design of Niels Jeppesen, built in Denmark and launched at Lymington in May 1991
For the first few seasons she was class raced in the Solent and Channel waters achieving 3rd place in the 91, 92 and 94 National Championships as well as 10th in the World Cup in Holland.
With the demise of the class locally she has competed in IRC racing. She has been optimised for this racing by reducing the sailplan including only using a blade headsail.
The 2006 season saw wins in the Portsmouth Spring and Autumn Series, The Solent Points Championship, Services Offshore Regatta as well as 2nd place in Cowes Week.
Electra races under the burgee of the Royal Naval Sailing Association and the Lee on the Solent Sailing Club
