Caldera City

Top of the League is a United based game, with lots of nice little twists in it. These twists make it a very challenging game to play, and a game I am really going to enjoy!

48 teams are split into four divisions of 12, with the three teams being promoted and relegated from each division. The game has been running for quite a while, and is up to issue 221. With around 11 issues per season, that means it has been going about 20 seasons!

As I join, I take on a team called Monkey Island, hence the monkey-ish names in the squad! I have renamed them to Caldera City during the close season. We start at the bottom of division three, with relegation looking very likely.

The game costs about £10 per season to play. The game is a sister game to Puma.

What happened!

Avoiding relegation is the main aim this season, to avoid becoming a yo-yo club! The trick will be to win our home games and hope for a point or two on the road. But this week was the strangest for many a year. For some reason, my orders did not reach the team and so they were left to their own devices in the most vital of weeks! One point from the two games would probably have been enough so they set out to get just that at home against Kalmar FF. In a game of few chances, neither goalkeeper was troubled. Back in the dressing room the news came in that Leeds had lost, so we were safe. With safety assured, we were more adventurous against Apostles FC. After Qualibou gave us a lead, we needed a late penalty from Tofua to claim another draw.

So to transfer news. The close season did see some player movement. A new defender called Vulsini joins the club as does a new apprentice Iwo-Jima and sweeper Quilotoa.
