Top of the League is a United based game, with lots of nice little twists in it. These twists make it a very challenging game to play, and a game I am really going to enjoy!

48 teams are split into four divisions of 12, with the three teams being promoted and relegated from each division. The game has been running for quite a while, and is up to issue 221. With around 11 issues per season, that means it has been going about 20 seasons!

As I join, I take on a team called Monkey Island, hence the monkey-ish names in the squad! I have renamed them to Caldera City during the close season. We start at the bottom of division three, with relegation looking very likely.

The game costs about £10 per season to play. The game is a sister game to Puma.

We started away at Water Eaton this week. It was a game where we were clearly the lesser side on the day. But its goals that count and a strike from Pago ensured that we did not leave empty handed! At home we entertained Aston Villa. After escaping at Water Eaton we were totally dominant in this game and this time were the victims. Aso scored to rescue a point again!

So to transfer news. New players this season are Qualibou, an apprentice; Reporoa, a schoolboy; and Lolobau, another apprentice. All are progressing well.
