The Thing

PRIORYTOWN SETTLERS

This game is without doubt one of the most complicated game that I play, and for that very reason, I think it has become one of my favourites! It combines all the good aspects of all the other games, into one hugely impressive format. My only disappointment was being unable to re-name all my team when I took over! However, I was able to change the team name. When I took over, the team was called Ski City, but I fancied a new name. I have recently moved to a new house in a small market town, whose most historic building is a ruined priory (see photo above). So the name Priorytown Settlers seemed to be a good choice!

There are three divisions of ten teams in this game. There are also numerous chances to win a cup or two!

The cost of playing this game is relatively low. A full season costs a mere £3 plus postage costs! However, The games master is one of the enlightened few who allow e-mail orders and indeed, he sends out his magazine, ‘The Thing’, via e-mail too! You do not have to be on-line to play, but it does speed things up a little, not having to rely on the postal service. For more information on the game, or to join the waiting list, contact:

Season 35

16th November 2009

A bit Pete Tong!!

After a few seasons in the wilderness, we are back! We took a drastic step a few seasons ago where we sold all the players are started again. The new team is now developing nicely and we are again competitive. While we are probably not quite ready to challenge for promotion this season, we should at least be able to battle!

This week we again had two league games to play as we tried to maintain slim promotion hopes. The first game was away at Monkeyhangers. This was a game that was not for the purists, both sides playing badly but cancelling each other out. If this had been a boxing match the ref would have stopped the fight for lack of effort! No punches were thrown and certainly none were landed in a dire draw. At home against Wingate we looked to improve and this time it was a fair old dust up. No hiding behind a determined defence, this was two teams going at each other from the start. Goals from Swallow and Slapbladder were not enough as Wingate eclipsed us!

Monkeyhangers 0 - Priorytown Settlers 0.

 Priorytown Settlers 2 – Wingate 5.
